Faqu’a, the most beautiful and famous village for water springs in Palestine, it is the heartbeat of Marj Ibn Amer region, as it sits on the Faqu’a mountain range, which reaches a height of 420 meters above sea level, giving it a distinctive view overlooking Marj Ibn Amer to the west and the Jordan Valley to the east, and is 11 km away from the city of Jenin.
Faqu’a village is called by this name due to the large number of water springs in it, such as Ein Jalut, Al-Asi, Al-Jawsaq, Al-Sukhna, Jama’in and others. Another story says that the name of the village is related with Khirbat Faqi`ah, and a third narration says that the name of the village is linked to the Mushrums which means Fuqu’a in Arabic.

The area of ​​the village was 30,000 acres and currently is 9,000 acres after the apartheid wall cut off its lands, which made it very poor in agricultural lands, as only mountain ranges with red soil and a scarcity of rain remained, so its population of 4510 people depend on the cultivation of olives and cactus.

فقوعة، جميلة الجميلات و سيدة عيون الماء في فلسطين، وهي قلب منطقة مرج بن عامر النابض إذ تتربع على سلسلة جبال فقوعة التي يصل ارتفاعها إلى 420 متر فوق سطح البحر مما منحها إطلالة مميزة فهي تشرف على مرج بن عامر غربا و غور الأردن شرقا وتبعد 11 كيلو عن مدينة جنين.
تعود تسمية قرية فقوعة بهذا الاسم لأكثر من رواية، منها: لكثرة عيون الماء فيها مثل عين جالوت والعاصي والجوسق والسخنة وجماعين وغيرها. أما رواية أخرى فتنسم اسم القرية الى خربة فقيقيعة، و في رواية أخرى، فإن اسم القرية مرتبط باسم نبات الفقع الموجود فيها بكثرة.  تبلغ مساحة القرية 30 ألف دونم، بقي منها 9 الاف دونم بعد أن اقتطع جدار الفصل العنصري أراضيها مما جعلها فقيرة جدا بالأراضي الزراعية إذ لم يتبقى منها سوى سلاسل جبلية ذو تربة حمراء و ندرة في الأمطار فيعتمد سكانها ذو ال 4510 نسمة على زراعة الزيتون والصبار.
