This beautiful Palestinian village boasts a picturesque landscape amidst green-covered mountains.  Jalboun is located in the eastern region of Jenin, about 12 km away and 325 meters above sea level.  Along with Faqua’a, Arbouna, Deir Abu Ghazala and Deir Abu Dayif, Jalboun is one of the villages bordering the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel in 1948.  Its name is Canaanite in origin “Jalbuniya”.  Jalboun is distinguished by its black and red igneous rocks and stones, which were formed as a result of volcanic activity 3,000 years ago.  It is famous for the cultivation of onions of the “Ori” type: one of the most widely-used vegetables in the popular Palestinian cuisine, the most famous dish of which is Musakhan.

قرية فلسطينية جميلة تكتسي جبالها باللون الأخضر وتتمتع بالمناظر الطبيعية الخلابة، هي قرية جلبون الواقعة في المنطقة الشرقية لمدينة جنين وتبعد عنها حوالي 12كم وترتفع 325 مترا عن سطح البحر. إلى جانب فقوعة، وعربونة ودير أبو غزالة، ودير أبو ضعيف تعتبر جلبون من أكثر البلدات القريبة على الحدود مع الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة عام 1948. وجاءت تسميتها بإسم جلبون من الاسم الكنعاني نجالبونيا. تتميز القرية بلون صخورها وحجارتها النارية الأسود والأحمر التي تشكلت نتيجة النشاط البركاني فيها قبل ثلاثة آلاف عام.
تشتهر القرية بزراعة البصل من صنف “أوري” و بذلك فهو من الأصناف الأكثر استخداما في الاكلات الشعبية الفلسطينية في تلك المنطقة، و أشهرها و الذها طبخة المسخن.
