يعد قصر جرار من أروع المواقع الأثرية في مدينة برقين حيث كان القصر قديما يعتبر من مراكز الحكم في منطقة جنين خلال فترة الحكام المحليين في الدولة العثمانية. كان ينتمي لعائلة جرار التي كانت من العائلات المؤثرة في تلك الفترة وكانت مسؤولة عن جباية الضرائب من معظم القرى والمجمعات السكانية في المنطقة. تم بناء القصر من الطين و التبن ويتميز بطراز معماري خاص. تعرض قصر جرار كغيره من القصور لفترة من الإهمال مما أدى الى إلحاق أضرار جسيمة به. القصر شيده الشيخ عوض آغا و يتكون القصر من مبنى من طابقين وبه فناء مركزي محاط بغرف ذات سقف قبو متقاطع. كان يطلق على القصر اسم (الخوخة) وكان مركزًا تجاريًا.

Location

Jarrar Palace is one of the most amazing archaeological sites in the town of Burqin.  During the Ottoman empire, the palace was considered one of the centers of government in the Jenin region, since it belonged to the Jarrar family: one of the most influential families at that time, entrusted with collecting taxes from most of the villages and population centers in the area.  The palace was built of clay and hay and is characterized by a particular architectural style.  Like many other historic places, Jarrar Palace eventually suffered a period of abandonment, leading to its neglect and great damage.  Originally built by al-Sheikh Awad Agha, the palace consists of a two-storied building and includes a central courtyard, surrounded by rooms with a cross-vault roof.  The palace used to be called “al-Khokha” (sky-light) and was a center of regional commerce.
