The Vision
The Municipality of Marj Bin Amer looks forward to providing the best services to the councils and the communities that join it by investing in the available economic resources.
Solar energy is one of the natural resources available in the region and can be used to provide renewable and clean energy in order to overcome the pollution resulting from power stations.
The policies of the Palestinian National Authority are now directed to support the local economy through the establishment of economic units in the municipalities
Such a project would support this trend and provide official and popular support as a cheap, clean and sustainable resource.
The municipality has allocated a suitable plot of land to the east of Jenin for the construction of the station.
The total power to be generated through a grid-connected 1 MW solar PV system is estimated at 1,490,000 kWh/year. They make up about 80% of one village in the municipality and near the solar power plant of the annual electricity consumption.
Total energy production cost is $162,040/year including maintenance cost. This project will reduce the energy problem, but the municipality will expand the project with the expected profits to reach self-sufficiency in the future
Create the station
The station was established and equipped on December 25, 2019. It is funded by the Local Authorities Development and Lending Fund and under the supervision of the Marj Ibn Amer Joint Municipality, as the project is considered one of the first solar energy projects in the region.
It is an important project in saving the electricity bill for the municipality and the Beit Qad al-Shamali village council. This project comes within the municipality’s plan to establish several solar energy projects, as this project has a capacity of 200 kilowatts, with an annual production capacity of 360000 kilowatt hours
