Civil defense is a set of necessary measures to protect civilians and their property, ensure the safety of transportation of all kinds, ensure the regular functioning of public facilities, and protect buildings, facilities, and public and private institutions, whether from the dangers of air raids and other acts of war, or from the dangers of natural disasters, fires, marine rescue, or any other dangers. The Civil defense department is under the reference of the Ministry of the Interior.

الدفاع المدني هي مجموعة الاجراءات الضرورية لوقاية المدنيين وممتلكاتهم وتأمين سلامة المواصلات بأنواعها وضمان سير العمل بانتظام في المرافق العامة وحماية المباني والمنشآت والمؤسسات العامة والخاصة سواء من أخطار الغارات الجوية وغيرها من الأعمال الحربية أو من أخطار الكوارث الطبيعية أو  الحرائق أو الانقاذ البحري أو أي أخطار أخرى و مرجعيتنا وزارة الداخلية.
