Like others throughout history, people of Deir Ghazala village had an interest in raising horses for several purposes including use in agriculture and transportation. However, the people of Deir Ghazala also learnt to appreciate horse breeds and admire their beauty. This interest in raising horses was passed from one generation to another and continues today. An annual horse race and beauty contest consisting of multiple levels and stages are organized locally. With the participation of jockeys and horses from all over the West Bank and the occupied Palestinian territories, the horse racing sport attracts many visitors to compete, or simply appreciate these fascinating animals deeply rooted in the local Arabic culture.

كان أهل القرية يهتمون بتربية الخيول بشكل كبير وذلك لعدة أهداف منها العمل في الزراعة وكذلك من أجل المواصلات كما كان أهل القرية يهتمون بالخيل لجمالها وسلالتها وانتقل هذا الاهتمام الى الجيل الحالي من المواطنين الموجودين بالقرية وأصبحوا ينظمون سباق للخيول سنوي وعلى عدة مراحل ويشارك به فرسان وخيول من جميع انحاء الوطن من الضفة الغربية وكذلك فلسطين المحتلة وهو يجذب الكثير من الزوار من أجل متعة الفرجة والمهتمين في قطاع الخيول .
